Keep Your Healthy New Years Resolution with #True28

A new class helps Bostonians in keeping up their healthy New Year’s resolutions through a new app.

As is tradition of the New Year, millions of people have prepared goals and resolutions to change their life. Many of these resolutions will be in regard to a healthier lifestyle be it through exercise or healthier eating habits. Unfortunately, many of these life improving goals will be abandoned for those easier or more familiar unhealthy habits. However, this year Bostonians will receive some help keeping up with those healthy ambitions.

Through a series of classes and an accompanying iOS application, Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is inviting participants to take part in a four week class that will focus on fitness, lifestyle, and nutrition. The goal of the program is to aid students in maintaining new, healthy life choices by allowing them to take their health into their own hands.

Developed and led by Chef Samuel Monsour of the award winning JM Curley restaurant and Astrid Bengston of BodyTalk Boston, participants will meet each Saturday at the BCAE throughout the 28 days of February to review their progress and develop their healthy fitness and cooking techniques. Each of these meetings will be supplemented by the app that accompanies the class and helps people stick to their healthy goals.

Each class will center around the four features presented through the accompanied app: Power, Provisions, Presence, and Progress. Students will experience and learn about these features through hands-on workshops, tutorials, cooking demos, and progressive exercise classes. Each three hour sesion will also feature exercises led by Astrid and a paleo brunch prepared by chef Samuel which will be included in the app. By the end of the 28 days of February, students will discover how to adjust their diet and exercise habits and lead happier, healthier lives.
