Chillingo Founders Leave EA

Chris Byatte and Joe Wee are quitting their positions at Electronic Arts.

Chillingo

The two founders set up Chillingo, the company that published the original Angry Birds and Cut The Rope, back in 2005 as a mobile games publisher. In October 2010 EA bought the company for $20 million in cash, but Byatte and Wee remained as the director and general manager of the devision.

Byatte and Wee’s departure marks only the most recent in a slew of losses for EA. This includes the departure of Dave Roberts and Jason Kapalka who are leaving EA-owned PopCap, as well as the founders at EA’s Criterion studio Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry who are said to be moving on after their contract with the publisher has ended.
